Book Worms

I am not a great family historian.  When I was younger I wrote pretty faithfully in my journal, but not so since I have had kids (very sad).  Therefore, I have really enjoyed having the blog and feel a little better about my history keeping.  So, when I include random things like peanut butter graham crackers, and the following, you know that I am simply recording things I don't want to forget...
Spencer really enjoys reading, and his favorite thing to read is non-fiction.  Awhile back, Mom gave me her old World Book Encyclopedias for kids (I think they were printed before I was born).  Spencer has loved these!!!  Some are quite outdated, but the ones with riddles, mythology and world history are pretty safe.  Spencer will read in bed before he goes to sleep, and seeing as he is on the top bunk he usually just puts the book in his bed when he goes to sleep.  The other day Steve helped him clean out the books that were in his bed and they
counted something like 17 encyclopedias in his bed (I know what you are thinking, "What kind of mother does he have??)  I am not sure how he sleeps that way, but I have noticed that his little sister is taking after him...
Sydney also loves books, and enjoys reading  before naptime or bedtime.  After we finish reading she wants the book in bed with her, which is fine, until they start building up inside her crib.  If I try to remove any of her books she gets very upset (I must be a pushover!)  I have to secretly take them out when she isn't looking, but leave at least one or two in there or she will notice that something is wrong!

I think a lot of smarts come from sleeping on books, all you have to do is look around in the Universities libraries. Your kids are going to be the "smartest, smarties".

I have found out lately that I can sleep with books now too. I never used to fall asleep reading, but times have changed, I guess. Try taking a bunch of medicine that says on it may make you drowsy, it isn't hard then. Sure love those kids.
