The Talent Show

A few weeks ago, Spencer had an assignment for school. Everyone was supposed to decide on a talent, create a poster about it and then present that talent at school in their classroom. Spencer decided to take a few examples of his artwork to show to his class. Apparently, (I didn't know this until after) each class then voted on their favorite talent and that person was to go on to the 6th grade talent show. Spencer won that honor for his class. Friday was the big night. I was nervous all day, you would think I was the one giving the presentation. There were 18 talents, with quite a variety, we had singers, dancers, tumblers, shadow puppets, and even a very interesting ping-pong trick where the boy spit the ping pong ball out of his mouth against a wall and then caught it again (with his mouth). Spencer projected his artwork onto a screen and told a little bit about each piece. This is some of the artwork he showed. It is a hard thing to get up in front of a large crowd of people you don't know (and four judges too... it reminded me of American Idol), but Spencer did a good job. At the end of the evening the judges tallied up their scores and made the big announcement. They awarded several third place winners, several more second place winners and one first place. And that first place winner was... Spencer Gordon!!!

Wow!!!! My eyes were watering when I got to that final name. I would love a Spencer Gordon for my kitchen wall. How much does he charge?
