Snippets

Two year old say some funny things!  I love this age when their language starts to explode and all the sudden you get a glimpse into their heads!  These are things that aren't the same if you weren't there, but things that I don't want to forget...

A couple of weeks ago, Carter and I had some time to kill while Sam was at soccer practice.  We decided to take a walk around the park while we waited.  We started out climbing the big sledding hill.  The kids love climbing up that thing.  As we sat at the top we looked out and spotted the playground down at the bottom of the hill. Now, lately, Carter has had a funny little way of saying "yes".  If we ask him a question like, "Would you like a granola bar?" he will answer like this, "Um, yeah" It's the inflection of the "yeah" that is hilarious.  He says it like someone would say the word, "duh".
So, to return to our story.  We saw the little playground and decided to walk down the hill and go play.
Holding my hand, Carter looks up at me and asks, "You like the park Mom?"
"Yes, I like the park Carter.  Do you like the park?"
"Um, yeah!"  (Like, duh Mom, what are you thinkin')

Sunday morning a few weeks ago we were getting ready to go to church.  I was in Carter's room with him getting him dressed and in walks Sydney with her dress on.  Sydney and Carter start having a little conversation that goes something like this...
Sydney: "I wear a dress to church Carter, but you wear pants cause you are a boy."
Carter: "Uh huh.  I a boy.  You a princess."
Thus we see that Sydney has trained Carter very well.  If he can just keep that mentality, he will really be a catch someday!
