Bathtime

For some reason, Sydney has recently acquired an aversion to bathtime. I am not certain why, but she tries to avoid it whenever she can. We have tried different tactics to make it more appealing: toys, those little foamy letters, bubbles, even bathing with Carter. But, alas, bathtime remains a struggle. This was our conversation yesterday morning as we finished up breakfast:

Me: "Sydney, after you finish your breakfast it is time to go upstairs and take a bath."
Sydney: "I don't want bathtime!"
Me: "Sydney, you have to have a bath this morning."
Sydney: "I don't want my letters."
Me: "That is fine, you don't have to have your letters."
Sydney: "I don't want any toys."
Me: "That's fine, no toys."
Sydney: "I don't want any bubbles."
Me: "No problem, you don't have to have bubbles. No letters, no toys, you just have to get cleaned up."
Sydney: "I don't want water."

That would be quite a bath without water. Hope you get the problem solved soon.

(Says Grappy Dale, but in reality it is Grammy Rae) She's a riot. I'm excited to visit with her this summer, and probably the rest of your clan.

What is it with girls and baths. Are we not the ones who want to be clean. I had the same thing with Ashley when she was little. But it will too end.

Of course she doesn't want water. As I witnessed last week, she is hooked on those wipes that you use on Carter. Thanks for letting me visit!! It was a blast.

Try showing her a really yucky picture of someone who hasn't taken a bath in a LONG time...it worked with my Sydney not wanting to brush her teeth. I pulled up a picture of a guy with REALLY disgusting teeth and told her I was going to print it and hang it on the mirror if she ever complained again...try it!
